SLFFA Cargo Services Limited, is a Public Company (not quoted) a consortium of 21 Companies, a venture involving some of the leading Blue Chip Companies, International Freight Forwarding Companies and purely local Freight Forwarding Companies, which began business in August 1994 at the Bandaranaike International Airport, occupying about 25,000 sq ft of space. It has been a proven success since its formation.

The main activity so far has been the facilitation of cargo received by Air in bulk, to ensure speed and efficiency in issue to consignees. It has been the objective of the Company to meet the ICAO “Recommended practice” of processing cargo through the terminal within a maximum period of 4 hours from the time of receipt of cargo by air, thereby minimizing cargo dwell time at the airport.

The Company has a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency of release of goods, appreciated by satisfied customers. Several free trade organizations, particularly those importing textiles to manufacture garments, have found our facility useful. The Company system of receipt and delivery of cargo operate in a “state of the art” web based environment.

• To carry on all or any of the business of air, sea and rail through the carriage of freight and goods and to act as forwarding agents, customs agents, ware- housemen including cold storage and entrepot trade facilitators bonded ware housemen and carriers in Sri Lanka and the World over.

• To carry on the business of international and local courier service for letters, documents, small parcels and other cargo to be air-freighted and distributed out of Sri Lanka and distributed within Sri Lanka.

• To carry on the business of Container Cargo Services including cargo stuffing and de-stuffing.

• To carry on the business of charters of aero planes and ships for the carriage of freight.

• Establishment of a One Shop Freight Centre at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

• To provide a composite “One Shop Freight Centre” which would be largely automated for speedy Ground handling of cargo providing fast freight sorting, speedy transshipment, temporary storage, release to consignees with other value added services.

• The establishment of a Customs Bureau to enable our customers to process CUSDEC electronically and submit same to Customs to have it approved electronically.

• To expand into providing similar service for Ocean Freight import group age cargo de-consolidation/storage with value added services such as Multi Country Consolidation / Distribution.
• Operating inbound and outbound mega freighter aircraft that would help make Colombo a Transit Hub.
• Operate a bonded trucking fleet to effect goods transfers and help door to door services.
